Shoes of Peace Ministry is a ministry dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.It is our desire that His love and compassion will be seen as we serve Him.
On a mission’s trip to Haiti in the
fall of 2007, I visited with Pat Moore of Haitian Ministries. I was at first
reluctant to be there, wondering what on earth I could do to help with the overwhelming
need around us. Then she introduced me to a group of elderly folks in a village
near Cap Hatien. These, the poorest of Haiti’s population, stole my heart as I
saw their desperate need for food. They walked to the church 3 times each week
to receive a meal, the only food they could count on, and most of them didn’t
even have shoes for their journey. I came home with a burning passion about
food and feet.
We have been working for the past two years raising funds to
feed the elderly and engaging many in the collection of Crocs for the elderly
and orphans of Haiti.
We pray that Jesus will be glorified and exalted as we
seek to meet these needs through “Shoes of Peace Ministry”.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25: 35, 40
